Dinner with the Dean Attracts New Students

Enrollment and Student Services (ESS) launched its inaugural Dinner with the Dean event to attract undergraduate students on Thursday, Sept. 19.  After welcoming guests, Stephanie G. Brown, Ed.D., Vice President of ESS, introduced J. Preston Jones, D.B.A., the newly-appointed dean of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship.

The September event hosted prospective students interested in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Sport and Recreation Management.  Students and their families had the opportunity to talk with faculty members Young Baek, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Finance; James Barry, D.B.A., Associate Professor of Marketing; Peter Finley, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Sport Management; Leslie Tworoger, D.B.A, Associate Professor of Management, and Tom Tworoger, D.B.A., Professor and Department Chair of Entrepreneurship.  After each faculty member addressed the audience, Dr. Barry gave an informative and interesting “mini class” in marketing and social media.

In addition to its regular recruiting events, ESS and the Offices of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment will host small dinners throughout the year, designed to foster meaningful conversations between prospective students, faculty, and staff.  Each dinner event will focus on a specific college or sub-set of majors.  For information about Dinner with the Dean or other undergraduate recruiting events, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at (954)262-8000.
