Dean Jon Garon to Speak at Museum Lecture Series

Jon Garon - Portrait, March 2015

Jon Garon, J.D.

“The Color Wheel of Culture: How Law, Business and Politics Shape our Expression from Early Television to News Media,” will be the topic of the next NSU Art Museum Lecture Series with guest speaker Jon Garon, J.D., dean of the Shepard Broad College of Law. The event will be held at the Art Museum in the Horvitz Auditorium.

Garon is a nationally recognized authority on laws involving technology, intellectual property, copyright, entertainment and information privacy. He is speaking in conjunction with the current museum exhibition, “Revolution of the Eye: Modern Art and the Birth of American Television.” His talk will trace the competing forces that shaped the Golden Age of television during the post-World War II cultural explosion, and explore how these policies continue to influence television and news media in today’s complex media economy.

The lecture is free for NSU students, faculty and staff. It will be free for guests with their museum admission. Reservations are required. Go to: moareservations@moafl.org or call 954-262-0204.
