Dateline Health Reaches 300th Episode Milestone

Fred Lippman, R.Ph., Ed.D, chancellor of NSU Health Professions Division (HPD), is the host of Dateline Health, Nova Southeastern University's award-winning public service show.

Dateline Health, NSU’s award-winning public service show hosted by Fred Lippman, R.Ph., Ed.D, chancellor of NSU Health Professions Division (HPD), will soon hit its 300th episode. This milestone episode will be taped in late October or early November.  Dateline Health is a 30-minute service program dedicated to promoting the community’s overall health and well-being, covering a wide range of contemporary health care issues through interviews with health care experts, researchers, and policy makers.

The show airs on BECON, COMCAST and AT&T U-verse cable channels and Direct TV and Dish Network seven days a week throughout the tri-county area, reaching over five million viewers in the community. In 2008, Dateline Health was chosen as a Bronze Telly Award winner in the 29th Annual Telly Awards for excellence in the educational video/film category. Telly Awards is an international competition that receives over 14,000 entries annually from all 50 states and many foreign countries. The Telly awards honor the top local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web. It is a tremendous achievement to be selected for recognition.

Two Dateline Health programs were recognized as winners: one show on pet therapy featuring Humane Society pets and volunteers and the other on gamma knife neurosurgery innovations featuring prominent South Florida surgeons.

Dateline Health is produced by HPD and is taped on the main campus at the NSU studio under the production and technical expertise of the Office of Information Technologies and Digital Media.
