Cross Country Athletes, Porter and Oppel, Earn SSC Weekly Awards

For the second time this season, Nova Southeastern’s cross country teams have swept the Sunshine State Conference’s Runner of the Week awards.
Freshman runner Allison Porter and graduate student Christian Oppel make history, as this sweep marks the first time in program history the Sharks have garnered both weekly awards multiple times in one season.
“It is a great accomplishment to sweep the SSC awards more than once in the same season,” said head coach Bryan Hagopian. “We have never had this happen in our program and it is a great confidence builder going into the conference championship.”
The Sharks will compete in the SSC Championship this Saturday, Oct. 22 in Melbourne, Fla.
