CPS Associate Professor Presents Suicide Prevention and Intervention Seminars for School Administrators and Crisis Teams
Scott Poland, Ed.D, associate professor for CPS and Co-Director of the Suicide and Violence Prevention Office at NSU provided several statewide presentations recently. He was the featured speaker at the Idaho Suicide Prevention Action Network meeting in Boise, Idaho in June where he trained members of 12 regional crisis teams on “post” suicide intervention methods to be used in schools. Poland was also the keynote speaker in June at the Texas State Symposium in San Marco, Texas on Suicide Prevention. Poland’s keynote address to the 800 attendees was entitled, Reflections and Directions on Youth Suicide Prevention.
Poland also presented a keynote address at the Texas School Safety Summit in Corpus Christi, Texas for 500 attendees many of which members of law enforcement on Bullying Victimization and Bullicide.
