Computer Sciences Student Receives Scholarship Funded by Alumnus

Scholarship recipient, Sami Al-Salman.

Sami Al-Salman, a doctoral student at NSU’s Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences (GSCIS), has been named the inaugural recipient of the Trudy Abramson Scholarship Fund.


Wayne Brown, Ph.D., founder of the Trudy Abramson Scholarship Fund.

The scholarship is made possible by a fund established by Wayne Brown, Ph.D., an alumnus of the school who earned his degree in 2004 and is currently the Vice President of Information Technology at Excelsior College.


Brown established the Trudy Abramson Scholarship Fund to honor his dissertation chair, Professor Trudy Abramson. The fund awards a scholarship specifically for students in the computing technology in education doctoral program (CTE), who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and a promising career.
