Computer Sciences School Alumnus Appointed to Disaster Recovery Task Force
Jose Francisco Molina Garcia Plaza, Ph.D., an alumnus of NSU’s Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences, has been appointed by Governor Chet Culver of Iowa to serve in a task force to research disaster recovery case management assistance needed for businesses following a major disaster, and asked to submit recommendations for standards.
Molina Garcia Plaza completed his Ph.D. in information science in 2009 with his dissertation “Application of discrete computer simulation modeling to evaluate business continuity plans” under the direction of Professors Easwar Nyshadham, Ph.D. (Chair), James Cannady, Ph.D., and William Hafner, Ph.D.
He is currently the Business Resiliency Officer of Transamerica and member of the Board of Directors of Safeguard Iowa Partnership.
