Computer & Information Sciences School Host Cyber Security Day

NSU CSD 074NSU’s Graduate School of Computer and Information and Sciences (GSCIS) recently hosted Cyber Security Day. The event hosted over 80 high school students from Miami Dade County Public Schools interested in learning more about cyber security.

Yair Levy, Ph.D., GSCIS professor, gathered and presented among the event’s representatives from the United States Secret Service, Sam Fadel from Discover’s Corporate Security division, GSCIS Dean Eric S. Ackerman, Ph.D., and NSU’s Marlon Clarke, Ph.D, Director of Network Operations and Services. Cyber Security Day celebrated October’s National Cyber Security Awareness Month. Now in its 10th year, the awareness program was created by the Obama Administration to engage and educate the public and private sectors about cyber security, and to increase the resiliency of the American public in the event of a cyber-incident.
