Computer & Information Sciences School Celebrates National Cyber Security Awareness Month
On Oct. 18, in celebration of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), Nova Southeastern University’s Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences hosted the TechConnect Networking Series. FBI Supervisory Special Agent Ray Goergen and Intelligence Analyst Chris Collins presented on cyber security in the United States, wireless and mobile security, and the important role of the consumer in cyber awareness.
NCSAM is designed to engage and educate public and private sector partners through events and initiatives with the goal of raising awareness about cyber security and increasing the resiliency of the nation in the event of a cyber-incident. October 2012 marks the ninth annual National Cyber Security Awareness Month sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security in cooperation with the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC).
