Computer & Information Sciences School Alumna Recognized as Michigan’s Top Tech Leader
Rita Barrios, Ph.D.
NSU’s Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences alumna Rita Barrios, Ph.D., was recently recognized as one of Michigan’s Top 10 Tech Leaders.
Barrios received her Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems with a concentration in information security in 2011. She is currently an assistant professor for computer information systems at the University of Detroit Mercy. Her research focuses in mobile devices, application development, data integrity, and database security. Barrios is an avid contributor and member of the Michigan Council for Women in Technology, an organization that supports diversity in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields.
Michigan’s Top Tech Leaders were acknowledged for their strong leadership in the community and for doing everything from founding and building successful companies to inspiring personal change and social entrepreneurship.
