COM Student Appointed Representative to National Organization
Third-year NSU College of Osteopathic Medicine (NSU-COM) student Carisa Lippmann was appointed as a student representative to the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Bureau of State Government Affairs (BSGA) and has been accepted for a second year as a member of The President’s 64. The purpose of the elite 64-member body of NSU student leaders is to strengthen the relationship between NSU and its community.
She also was chosen to represent AACOM’s Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents as its national public relations/Web site representative. In addition, Lippmann, along with second-year students Soo Jin Lee and Kelly Thiber and third-year student Weber Wu, received a $600 grant from the International Street Symposium to present their research efforts regarding how to improve access for students who work with homeless populations in local clinics.
