Over 120 pharmacy students participated at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Pharmacy’s (COP) Annual Distinguished Alumni Panel Presentation, “Pharmacy Careers:  Training vs. Pharmacy Careers in Practice,” on Oct. 6 in the Chancellor’s Administrative Suite at the Health Professions Division.  The event is part of the COP’s annual celebration of American Pharmacist Month (October) and the Career Expo and Showcase.

Pharmacy students from Davie, Palm Beach and Ponce, Puerto Rico heard from NSU’s Celebration of Excellence (COE) College of Pharmacy Distinguished Alumni:  Nilda Banchs-Sandoval, Pharm.D., class of 2001, Geneen R. Graber-Maxwell, Pharm.D., class of 1996, and Cristina Fueyo-Medina, Pharm.D., class of 2000, who shared their personal and professional journey from pharmacy students to global advocates of the continually evolving pharmacy professions.

The interactive session provided discussion and a question/answer session to help stimulate pharmacy students’ career explorations and served as an opportunity for them to personally engage with the Distinguished Honorees as former students, current alumni, and pharmacy career role models and as future pharmacy professional themselves.
