College of Pharmacy Hosts 2011 – 2012 Pharmacy Student Orientation Ceremony
The College of Pharmacy (COP) held its Opening Orientation Ceremony for the 2011-2012 incoming pharmacy students at the Ft. Lauderdale and Palm Beach sites on August 14. The ceremony was enjoyed at COP’s Ponce, Puerto Rico site the following Sunday. Aside from the formal presentations by NSU and COP administration, students and their family members and guests had the opportunity to converse with COP administrators, faculty, staff, and current students to gain a better appreciation of COP and its commitment to education and excellence.
As such, the event featured an academic exhibition showcasing COP departments and their respective faculty’s scholarly and service activities. Student organizations were also represented, allowing incoming students to interact and engage in conversations with upper classmen as they showcased award-winning research poster presentations and entertained numerous questions regarding student-life at the COP. In addition, attendees were provided with tours by students which included visits to the Drug Information Centers, the Clinic Pharmacy, classrooms, laboratories, and recreational facilities.
