College of Osteopathic Medicine Ranks High in Funds Received
The November 2012 issue of the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association lists Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) as the number one private osteopathic medical school in the nation in the number of National Institutes of Health dollars received for 2010 and number four of all of the schools in the osteopathic medical community.
In related news, the number of articles published by COM faculty members ranked fourth in the nation in the number of citations, number one in citations per publication compared to all the osteopathic medical schools, and had the highest impact index.
“While this is quite noteworthy, if the article rated the college this year, I believe we would have been rated even higher,” said Leonard Levy, D.P.M., M.P.H., associate dean for education, planning, and research at NSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine.
