College of Pharmacy Receives Grant From the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists Foundation
NSU College of Pharmacy recently received a grant from the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists Foundation. The funds will support a systematic review by a collaborative research team to assess the current published randomized controlled trials (RCT) of compounding practices for a variety of pain medications. The grant proposal was led by Mohammad S. Shawaqfeh, Pharm.D., M.S., assistant professor at NSU COP, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Palm Beach Campus. The project team also includes COP faculty members from Palm Beach Campus, including Catherine Harrington, Pharm.D., PhD, associate professor, Sociobehavioral and Administrative Pharmacy; Michael Gillette, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCACP, assistant professor, Pharmacy Practice; Zaher Hajar, Pharm.D., research fellow at Center for Consumer Health Informatics Research; and Feroza Sircar-Ramsewak, Pharm.D., M.S., instructor, Pharmaceutical Sciences.
