A group of AHA members were recognized as young, “up and coming” cardiovascular researchers

College of Pharmacy faculty member, Anastasios “Tassos” Lymperopoulos, BPharm, MSc, PhD, FAHA, assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences, participated in an honorary photo session during the American Heart Association`s (AHA) Annual Conference’s Scientific Sessions recently held at the Dallas Convention Center. Scientific Sessions is the leading cardiovascular meeting for basic, translational, clinical and population science in the United States, with more than 18,000 cardiovascular experts from more than 105 countries in attendance.

A group of AHA members were recognized as young, “up and coming” cardiovascular researchers based on receiving more than two years of funding from the AHA for their research. Lymperopoulos has been conducting AHA-funded cardiovascular research for more than 9 years and has been elected a fellow of the AHA by its Basic Cardiovascular Sciences Council, a significant recognition given to distinguished cardiovascular researchers, who are AHA members.
