Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing Students Educate About Elder Abuse Awareness
An estimated five million older adults are abused, neglected, or exploited each year. BSN students in the Population Health Nursing course in the Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing presented a poster for Elder Abuse Awareness Day at Noble McArtor Senior Day Care Center. The clients were able to participate in the presentation by answering questions. Clients were given placemats that displayed the facts about elder abuse and how to recognize it. The presentation was prepared by students Allyson White, Gabrielle Testai, Celine Vezina, Tatiana Jara, Victoria Yacobucci, Crystal Weinand and Lisa Soontupe, Ed.D., Associate Professor.
