College of Law Faculty Member Recognized as a Top Educator

Jane Cross

Jane E. Cross

It comes as no surprise to the NSU community when one of our faculty members is recognized for excellence in teaching. The university prides itself on giving students access to educators who are subject-matter experts, many of whom are still practicing in their chosen fields.

As such, Legacy Miami and Legacy South Florida will honor Shepard Broad College of Law associate professor, Jane E. Cross, as one of the Top Educators of 2017. Cross, who is also director of NSU’s Caribbean Law Program, will be recognized at a reception on January 27, 2018. Broward County Commissioner Dr. Barbara Sharief will serve as keynote speaker.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Cross is the faculty advisor to NSU’s Black Law Students’ Association, the Caribbean Law Students’ Association and the NSU Human Rights Organization. She serves as president, executive committee member and Advisory Board member for the American and Caribbean Law Initiative (ACLI), while also working as treasurer and board member of the Southeast/Southwest People of Color Legal Scholarship Conference.

Legacy Miami is distributed in the Miami Herald and Legacy South Florida is distributed in the Sun Sentinel. Click on the link for more information about the Legacy Reception.
