Christine Kircher, CHCS Budget Manager; Adrienne Lauer, Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy; Joann Gallachio, Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy; Brian Nelson; Terry Morrow Nelson, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs/Assistant Professor; Carol Lambdin-Pattavina, Assistant Professor Occupational Therapy; Madeline Marianacci, Student in Occupational Therapy; and Yelana Chapman.

The College of Health Care Sciences (CHCS) is committed to engaging students, faculty and staff in initiatives that serve the community. On March 7-8, a faculty/staff/student-team participated in the MS 150 Bike Ride to raise money to fight Multiple Sclerosis. The team raised nearly $5,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and was led by Joann Gallichio, team captain and assistant professor in the Tampa Hybrid Physical Therapy program.

Many of the team members know someone with Multiple Sclerosis and were riding in her/his honor. Rob Wagner, associate chair of the Anesthesiologist Assistant Program, was riding for his aunt. He said, “putting the miles on today is nothing compared with what she lives with every day.” Terry Morrow Nelson, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs in CHCS, was riding in honor of her mom who has had MS for 25 years and said, “She challenges herself just to walk to the front door every day. I can channel that same level of courage and perseverance to push through a few extra miles on my bike for a weekend.” Others just love to ride and enjoyed a weekend building relationships with colleagues while raising money for a good cause. Way to go College of Health Care Sciences for living out the NSU Core Value of Community!
