College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Hosts Criminal Justice Week Events
K-9 officers (bloodhounds) and Students at Criminal Justice Week
The Department of Justice and Human Services in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences hosted several events related to Criminal Justice Week 2016. NSU has excellent working relationships with several law enforcement agencies, including the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI.) The college offers several educational programs in the area of criminal justice and national security, including: bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justices; certificate and master’s degree in national security affairs; and a Ph.D. in criminal justice.
As part of Criminal Justice Week, NSU hosted a panel discussion on “Drugs in America” that included representatives from the university, BSO and the Broward County judicial system. In addition, a job far took pace that had officials from local law enforcement agencies, the U.S. Armed Forces and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on hand to meet with students interested in careers in their respective fields. There were also law enforcement assets/resources on hand, including a mobile command center, K-9 officers (bloodhounds) and fire rescue emergency response units at the NSU Taft Center.
