College of Dental Medicine offers Free Oral Cancer Screenings, Apr. 20-22
In honor of Oral Cancer Awareness Month, NSU’s College of Dental Medicine will be offering free oral cancer screenings daily Apr. 18 – 22 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The free screenings will be held at the North Miami Beach Clinic (1750 NE 167th Street, North Miami Beach) under the direction of Michael A. Siegel, DDS, MS, FDS RCSEd, professor and chair, Department of Diagnostic Sciences (oral medicine) at CDM, and CDM’s Department of Diagnostic Sciences.
Oral cancer is not a rare disease. Approximately 37,000 people are diagnosed with oral cancer every year in the U.S.; it kills one person every hour of every day; and 100 new cases are identified each day. The good news is that it can be found early in its development.
An oral cancer screening should be conducted every year, so take advantage of this free offer and get screened today. Call 954-262-4304 to make an appointment for your complimentary screening.
