Climate-Sustainability Series to Discuss Aftermath of Japan’s Fukushima 2011 Nuclear Accident, March 18
The Climate-Sustainability Lecture Series, hosted by the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, will explore the long-term effects of the high-level Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan in March 2011.

It has been almost four years since a March 2011 earthquake-produced tsunami caused a high-level nuclear accident at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi Facility.
This talk will examine the subsequent stabilization and clean-up efforts at the site, the known extent of nuclear contamination, and the accident’s effect on energy production and consumption in both Japan and the U.S.
About the Lecture Series
The Climate-Sustainability Lecture Series highlights understanding of the science, technology, and policies relating to climate change and sustainable development. Experts in related fields from within NSU and other institutions are the featured speakers. The series provides faculty members and students the opportunity to discuss the scientific, technological, social, and policy aspects of sustainability-related issues.
