Children Receive a “Treat for Feet” at NSU Library’s Special Storytime
Storytime patrons at NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library recently got a special treat – free foot screenings from podiatrist Mark Jaffe and his students: Jessica Urrea, Jaibel Makiyil, Luis Perez, Cassandra Curcio, Yulissa Maria Medina, Analee Tapia, and Catalina Rodriguez.
Jaffe also educated parents on selecting developmentally appropriate shoes for their children and themselves, and helped families create a Foot Portrait craft for their children when he visited Little Minnows Storytime on Thursday, Feb. 16.
Little Minnows Storytime takes place every Thursday from 10:30-11:15 a.m. at NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library. Inspire your future reader at storytime! Experience the sounds and structure of language through stories and songs with rhythm, rhyme and repetition. This storytime is recommended for children ages 6 months to 36 months with parent or caregiver.
For more information about the library’s free programs for children, teen and adults, please visit http://sherman.library.nova.edu/helios/events/ or call the Public Library Services Reference Desk at 954-262-5477.
