Check out FDOT’s 511 Traveler Information System

The Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) 511 Traveler Information System is a toll-free service that provides English and Spanish real-time traffic information on all Florida interstate highways, Florida’s Turnpike and major metropolitan roadways in the state.

The Florida 511 System provides traffic updates to the public by:

  • Phone: Calling 511 toll-free from a land line or mobile phone
  • Website: Visiting FL511.com
  • Twitter: Following Twitter accounts providing statewide, regional and road-specific updates
  • Mobile: Downloading a free mobile app
  • Text: Register to receive My Florida 511 text alerts about personalized traffic information
  • Email: Register for My Florida 511 email updates including customized traveler information
  • Phone Alert: Register for My Florida 511 phone alert updates.

Florida 511 provides a variety of helpful information to travelers including, crashes, congestion, construction, evacuation updates and more.

Travelers also can sign up to automatically receive personalized traffic information via a phone call, text message or email. Users can create alerts for certain roadways or entire regions of Florida, their own custom routes or receive floodgate messages that announce important incidents such as wildfires and hurricanes or AMBER, Silver and Law Enforcement Officer alerts. Once an alert is programmed, the user chooses how they want to receive the alert (phone call, text or email) and for which times and days of the week.
