CHASS Faculty Speaks at NAFSA Ron Moffatt Seminar on Peace
Ismael Muvingi, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Conflict Resolution Studies (DCRS) in NSU’s College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS), was an invited speaker at the National Association for Foreign Student Affairs (NAFSA) Ron Moffatt Seminar on Peace and the Global Civil Society. This seminar, which was held at Northeastern University in Boston, brought together scholars and practitioners in peace-building and conflict resolution with educators focused on teaching and facilitating transnational education. NAFSA is the world’s largest nonprofit association dedicated to international education. Muvingi’s presentation was entitled, “Global-Local Issues in Conflict Resolution and Peace-building in Practice.”
Muvingi is the faculty adviser to the African Working Group (AWG) at CHASS. His research and teaching interests include transitional justice, human rights, and Africa and the African Diaspora. He is a representative to NSU’s Institutional Review Board and the Director of the Doctoral Program in Conflict Analysis and Resolution.
