Center for Autism & Related Disabilities Hosts “Family Fun Day” Showcase of Services, Sept. 24

To celebrate the new school year, the UM-NSU CARD (University of Miami – Nova Southeastern University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities) will host its annual “Family Fun Day” showcase of services on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Flight Deck at NSU’s Don Taft University Center.

The “Family Fun Day” is intended to help families connect with one another and with the numerous free community resources available for those with Autism and related disabilities.

Participants can:

  • Meet the center’s staff and tour the UM-NSU CARD Mobile Clinic
  • Connect with other families, and community representatives
  • Learn more about the numerous free services the center provides to the community
  • Sing Karaoke and dance to a live DJ
  • Enjoy snacks, play games like pool and ping pong, and much more!

The UM-NSU CARD provides free services for more than 5,500 families throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe Counties. Services include family support, technical assistance and consultation, parent and professional training programs, and public education activities.

The center also supports research in a variety of disciplines to better understand the causes and potential treatments for the disorder.
