Center for Autism and Related Disabilities Hosts 5th Annual “Autumn Moonlight” Fundraising Gala, Nov. 9

The 5th Annual Autumn Moonlight benefiting the University of Miami-Nova Southeastern University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (UM-NSU CARD) will take place on Friday, Nov. 9 from 7 to 11 p.m. at Specialty Automotive Treatments, located at 700 West Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.

This year’s event will honor two of UM-NSU CARD’s most devoted supporters – Glenn Parker, M.D., Co-Founder of NationsHealth, and Carmen Zaldivar, a former CARD Constituency Board Member and CARD Legislative Chair – for all of the hard work, commitment, and support they have contributed to the organization and to the autism community in South Florida.

Last year’s honorees, Miami Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland and his wife Rachel, will serve as the event’s Honorary Chairs. Autumn Moonlight is an annual festive fundraising celebration is designed to raise awareness of autism and support the programs, services and research initiatives of UM-NSU CARD.

Autumn Moonlight will feature music, dancing, cocktails, delectable hors d’oeuvres from The Capital Grill and cocktails from Bacardi USA. Guests will dance the night away to the smooth sounds of DJ 1Tre (Michael Marino). Local 10’s Sports Director Will Manso will serve as emcee for the evening.

Because of the generous host and donors, money raised at Autumn Moonlight will be used to provide direct services to the families in Broward County. UM-NSU CARD provides outreach services, organizes autism sensitive community picnics, concerts, surfing clinics, teen groups, and job skill groups just to name a few programs that happen throughout the year at no cost to families.

Tickets for Autumn Moonlight are $150 per person and event sponsorships are available.
