The Promethean Theatre’s A Bearded Lover Ends Mar. 6

The Promethean Theatre (TPT), NSU’s award-winning professional theatre company in residence, will present the world premiere of A Bearded Lover through Mar. 6.

Part of the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Resident Series, the production will take place in the Black Box Theatre of the college’s Performing and Visual Arts Wing in the Don Taft University Center. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m.

A play by Juan C. Sanchez and directed by TPT’s Margaret M. Ledford, A Bearded Lover is a dark yet comedic production about three eccentric sisters preparing for a long journey into the sea. In the midst of it all, sibling rivalry ratchets up; love and loyalty are tested; and even the bond of sisterhood is challenged, pushed to the limit, and changed forever.

Tickets for A Bearded Lover are $10 for NSU students, $15 for all other students under the age of 25 (tickets available at the door, day of show only, if available), $20 for seniors, and $25 for general admission. Seats are limited. For tickets, please call 866-811-4111 or visit www.theprometheantheatre.org.

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences is proud to partner with The Promethean Theatre in bringing professional theatre productions to NSU. In 2009, TPT’s cast and crew earned a variety of Carbonell Awards, including “Best Ensemble” for its production of Two Sisters and a Piano presented at NSU in 2008. The Carbonell Awards are South Florida’s oldest and most prestigious arts honors.
