Caron Named SSC Softball Pitcher of the Week
Dani Caron, SSC Pitcher of the Week
NSU’s Dani Caron was selected as the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week, which was announced by the conference on Apr. 12. It is the Sharks’ first Pitcher of the Week Award this season.
Caron went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA for the week. She opened the week with a complete-game shutout in the Sharks’ 8-0 win over Northwood. In the game, she surrendered just one hit with no walks and five strikeouts. Caron also went the distance in an 8-1 SSC win versus Barry. She allowed no earned runs on three hits and no walks. She struck out four Buccaneer batters.
In Barry’s 8-5 win in the teams’ series opener, Caron took the circle with eight Barry runs already on the board and stymied the Bucs’ scoring spree. She permitted just two hits with no walks and two strikeouts over 2.1 innings.
