CAHSS’ Writing Center Surpasses 500 Session for Students by Midterm

The Writing Center's 500th Session this Term

The Writing Center’s 500th Session this Term

NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) is delighted to announce that The Writing Center provided over 500 writing sessions for students by the midterm. This is a significant increase over the 370 sessions provided by the same time last year. This only includes undergraduate writing sessions and does not reflect the additional sessions now being offered to CAHSS graduate students. Kevin Dvorak, Ph.D., faculty in the Department of Writing and Communication and the center’s coordinator remarked:

“We’re really excited to have reached this milestone so early in the year. The students who have visited us have been great to work with, and I think this year’s group of Writing Fellows is really strong. They had made great connections with students in the classrooms, and I have been impressed at how well they work as a team in the Writing Studio. The COMP faculty have been extremely supportive, as well, and they frequently visit the Studio. We’re connected to all sections of COMP, including all campuses and online, which is another major accomplishment for the program. In the end, we’re excited about the work we’ve accomplished so far and are looking forward to an excellent end to the semester.”

The Writing Center is located in the Writing Studio in the Parker Building. For more information, Dvorak may be reached at 954-262-8108 or at kdvorak@nova.edu
