CAHSS to Host Conference on Child Abuse, Neglect and Human Trafficking
NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) will host the Inaugural Conference on Child Abuse, Neglect and Human Trafficking. The event is at NSU’s Fort Lauderdale-Davie campus. The conference will provide opportunities for professionals already in the field or those interested in entering the field of child abuse prevention to meet, learn, and work together.
The conference will feature key note speaker Lauren Book, well known child advocate and founder and CEO of the Lauren’s Kids Foundation. Other speakers include Ronald Brook, Special Agent Elli Bray of the FBI Miami Division; Maribel Del Rio-Roberts, Psy.D., faculty and director of NSU’s master’s program in Developmental Disabilities; Joe Matthews, founder and CEO of the National Child Safety Program; and Tara Zuckerman, Psy.D., psychologist.
