CAHSS Students and Faculty Inaugural DFT Day of Service on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Master’s and doctoral students from the Department of Family Therapy (DFT) in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) participated in their First Annual Day of Service (January 18, 2016, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.)
Meals were prepared and served to homeless residents at Broward Outreach in Hollywood. The students joined the residents in conversations over lunch. Christine Beliard, Ph.D., faculty and Director of Doctoral Programs in DFT, envisioned this service event as a way for students and faculty to serve beyond the traditional walls of therapy. Participants saw it as an honor to be of service, especially on a day in honor of a man who dedicated his life to the equality and service of all.
