CAHSS Provides Opportunities for Students with City Theatre, ends Jan. 31

City Theatre

The Department of Performing and Visual Arts in NSU’s College of Art, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) is offering students an opportunity to observe City Theatre during their residency at NSU from January 19–31. City Theatre is a professional theatre company in Miami that celebrates 21 years of dedication to the development and production of new work, specifically the short play format.

Since its inception, the company has produced more than 400 original short plays by established playwrights and important new voices in the theatre industry. Best known for its award-winning Summer Shorts – America’s Short Play Festival, City Theatre also presents in its annual programming Island Shorts on Key Biscayne, the CityWrights Professional Weekend for Playwrights Conference, and the LGBT-themed Shorts Gone Wild Festival. Students will be able to attend and assist the rehearsal process of Island Shorts.
