CAHSS Invites Proposals for Intellectual Conversations 2018-2019 on “Boundaries and Borders: Beyond Open and Closed” Deadline extended to August 1

Stephen Levitt, LL.M.NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) is pleased to announce that the Intellectual Conversations series will continue during the next academic year on the theme of “Boundaries and Borders: Beyond Open and Closed.” The submission deadline has been extended to August 1st to maximize the opportunity for faculty to submit

Generally, these conversations last for one hour and are held on main campus on Thursday afternoons from noon until 1 p.m. The conversations last for about 45 minutes with 10-15 minutes for discussion and there are usually four or five conversations per semester. These may be traditional written papers or multimedia presentations and may have one or more participants.

Next year’s conversations may deal with any aspect of the topic and we encourage multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural perspectives. Though at least one participant must be a member of the CAHSS faculty, we encourage collaboration with faculty, students or alumni throughout NSU.

The proposals should be between 200 and 400 words, describe the major concepts to be addressed by the Intellectual Conversation as well as how this talk is related to the theme for this year:  “Boundaries and Borders: Beyond Open and Closed.”

If you have questions or are interested in participating, please submit your abstract to Stephen Levitt, LL.M., faculty in the Department of History and Political Science and the Intellectual Conversations Committee chair, at levitts@nova.edu

The abstracts are due by August 1, 2018.
