CAHSS Faculty to Perform “Shade” at the Adrienne Arsht Center, March 31
Augusto Soledade, M.F.A., faculty in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) and his dance company, Augusto Soledade Brazzdance, will perform his latest work, “Shade,” on March 31, 2018. The performance will be held at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami, at 7:30pm
Shade, “was created for six dancers and delves into identity, identification, and the question, “What are you?” Soledade did extensive research into these issues including exploring “Voguing,” a movement in NYC in the late sixties and seventies as a means for young urban outcasts to band together for strength and social acceptance. “Shade” included an original score created by Jessica Muñiz-Collado, M.F.A., and an art piece by Kandy Lopez, M.F.A. All three are faculty in the Department of Performing and Visual Arts in CAHSS.
