CAHSS Faculty Presents at the 24th NINE Conference in Phoenix
Gary Gershman, J.D., Ph.D., professor in the Department of History and Political Science in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS), presented at the 24th NINE Spring Training Conference. The event was held in March in Phoenix, AZ. The conference invites original, unpublished papers regarding aspects of baseball, particularly social policy implications and history. Gershman’s presentation was entitled Hating the Yankees-Why it Feels so Good (and maybe it shouldn’t). This is a part of a larger piece of research that looks at social and cultural conflict through the lens of sports rivalry.
Gershman’s teaching and research interests include civil liberties and civil rights, American history, sports history, and constitutional law and history. He is also the faculty advisor for the Mock Trial Team.
