CAHSS Faculty Presents at International Journal of Arts and Sciences Conference in Venice

Bill Adams DMA in Venice

Bill J. Adams, DMA, faculty in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS), presented on June 23, 2017 at the International Journal of Arts and Sciences Conference which was held at Ca‘ Foscari University of Venice, Italy.  The title of the presentation was “Liminal Observation in Multidisciplinary Performance: MTV Meets Franz Schubert,” and it included live performance in a lecture-demonstration format. The study explored performance by creating, blurring, and/or destroying relationships within song/s and throughout the audience by manipulating visual image, text, and live performance. Members of the audience included academic peers from University College London, the University of Malta, Achva Academic College and Ben-Gurion University, in Israel.

Adams is an associate professor in the Department of Performing and Visual Arts in CAHSS. As an arts administrator he serves on panels which recommend funding for Broward Cultural Division’s Cultural Investment Program, the Cultural Diversity Program, and the Cultural Tourism Program. He has been the artistic director of the Renaissance City Men’s and Women’s Choirs as well as South Florida Chorale Arts, Inc.
