CAHSS Faculty and Students Present InDesign Workshop for High School Students

Aiden Rivas and Carli Lutz

Earlier this month, Megan Fitzgerald, Ph.D., faculty in the Department of Writing and Communication in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS), and two undergraduate students presented an all-day InDesign workshop for 15 high school students at American Heritage at its Boca/Delray Campus.

The workshop taught students the basics of newspaper design and layout and gave them the opportunity to design their own newspaper templates.

The undergraduate students working with Fitzgerald were Aiden Rivas and Carli Lutz. Rivas is a Communication major in DWAC and Lutz is an Arts Administration major in the Department of Performing and Visual Arts. Mariette Williams, journalism and literary magazine teacher at American Heritage, also attended and worked with Fitzgerald to bring the workshop to the school.
