CAHSS Faculty and Student Publish article in the Journal of Religion and Health
Joyce Avotri-Wuaku, Ph.D., and Eileen Smith-Cavros, Ph.D. in Ghana
Eileen Smith-Cavros, Ph.D., and Joyce Avorti-Wuaku, Ph.D., faculty in the Department of Conflict Resolution Studies in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) published an article in the Journal of Religion and Health. The article is titled, “All I Need is Help to Do Well: Herbs, Medicines, Faith, and Syncretism in the Negotiation of Elder Health Treatment in Rural Ghana.” It was based on field research conducted in Ghana involving a qualitative study of elders.
The other co-authors include Albert Wuaku, Ph.D. faculty and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Religious Studies at Florida Atlantic University, and Amal Bhullar, B.S. At the time of the project, Bhullar was an NSU undergraduate student studying anthropology and biology. She has since graduated and is currently attending medical school at Florida International University.
