CAHSS Alumna Named First Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion at Salem State University
Lisa McBride, Ph.D., doctoral graduate of NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS), has been named as the first Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion at Salem State University in Massachusetts. McBride received her doctoral degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution.
Prior to coming to Salem State, McBride was the inaugural Chief Diversity Officer at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in Pennsylvania. Before that she was the Special Assistant to the President for Equity, Justice, and Diversity and University Ombudsperson at California University of Pennsylvania (Cal U). McBride held several positions in the Florida State University system, including as criminology faculty. She has an extensive career in law enforcement and was a Senior Special Agent for the US Department of Justice. In addition to her doctoral degree, McBride holds an M.S. and B.S. in Criminology from Indiana State University.
McBride is a member of the editorial board of INSIGHT into Diversity and was a recipient of their Diversity Visionary Award in 2016.
