CAHSS Alum is Honored by U.S. Marine Corps for work as Clinical Specialist
Elissa Crist, M.S., LMFT, a 2003 master’s graduate of the Department of Family Therapy (DFT), in NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS), received a special commendation from the U.S. Marine Corps. Crist is a clinical specialist at the U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego and has been in this position for three years. Previously she held other positions in the U.S. Navy and was in private practice.
The Certificate of Commendation states in part that: “Miss Crist took the initiative and ownership of an essential role to help support the unique mission of Special Training Company through hundreds of hours of counseling and resiliency training. Her positive impact extended to more than three thousand recruits and Marines assigned to Medical Rehabilitation Platoon, Physical Conditioning Platoon, and Basic Martine Platoon.”
