Business Professors, Students Present Papers at Conference in New Orleans
Two professors and two docotoral students from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship recently presented papers at a conference that was held in New Orleans. The conference was organized by the International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines.
Albert Williams, assistant professor of Finance and Economics, presented a paper titled, “A Comparison of Characteristics of Type A Behavior for Belize and The Bahamas: Implications for Expatriate Workers and Managers.” The paper, which received a research award, was co-authored by Williams, Bahaudin Mujtaba, D.B.A.; Tim McCartney, Ph.D.; and Andrew Trumbach. In addition to presenting his paper, Williams also served as chair for one session and a discussant for another while at the conference.
Mitch Miller, an adjunct faculty member for the Huizenga Business School also presented a paper at the conference. His paper was titled, “Do You Need an Active Fund Manager?” This paper, which was coauthored with Williams, also won a research award.
Two DBA students, Scott Kehiaian and Natalie Hines, each presented their papers at the conference. Kehiaian’s paper won a research award for his paper titled, “Financial Knowledge and Characteristics of Chapter 13 Debtors,” which was coauthored with Williams. Hines’ paper was titled, “Cognitive Moral Development in the Public Sector: A Comparative Analysis of Elected Municipal Officials and Appointed City Managers Using the Defining Issues Test.” She also served as a discussant for one session at the conference.
