Business Professor Publishes Article; Serves as Guest Speaker on Leadership
Robert Preziosi, D.P.A., chair and professor of management at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, published an article in the April issue of the South Florida Hospital News & Healthcare Report. His article, which was titled “Does Health Care Still Need Management Skills?” compared the differences between two different hospitals’ management practices. According to the article, one hospital clearly invested in training and developing management skills, whereas the other did not.
The impact on patient care, efficiency, employee performance and overall quality of health care were profound. Preziosi said, “Any health care operation is more profitable when it is managed by people who have learned and applied the skills.”
In addition to his recent publication, Preziosi was also the speaker at the Florida Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants. The title of his presentation was “Leadership 2015: You Want Me to do What?” and he outlined research findings that recommend four areas that leaders should focus on to be successful.
