Brad Meltzer NY Times Bestselling Author Launches new Children’s Book Series at Sherman Library, Jan. 18

Brad-Meltzer-eventThe Alvin Sherman Library will be holding a book signing event for Brad Meltzer on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 3:15 pm  for his launch of his new children’s book series.  Meltzer’s new book series tells the real life story of ordinary people who changed the world beginning with Abraham Lincoln, then Amelia Earhart.

“We can all be heroes.” That’s the inspiring message of this lively, collectible picture book biography series.

“Kids always search for heroes, so we might as well have a say in it,” Brad Meltzer realized, and so he envisioned this friendly, fun approach to biography – for his own kids, and for yours. Each book tells the story of one of America’s icons in an entertaining, conversational way that works well for the youngest nonfiction readers, those who aren’t quite ready for the Who Was series. Each book focuses on a particular character trait that made that role model heroic. For example, Amelia Earhart refused to accept no for an answer; she dared to do what no one had ever done before, and became the first woman to fly a plane all the way across the Atlantic Ocean. This book follows her from childhood to her first flying lessons and onward to her multi-record-breaking career as a pilot.

This engaging series is the perfect way to bring American history to life for young children, and to inspire them to strive and dream.

The event is free and open to the public.  Books will be available for purchase. Meltzer is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Inner Circle, as well as the bestsellers; The Tenth Justice, Dead Even, The First Counsel, The Millionaires, The Zero Game, The Book of Fate and The Book of Lies. He is also one of the co-creators of the TV show, Jack & Bobby—and is the Eisner Award-winning author of the critically acclaimed comic book, Justice League of America.
