Bowman and Washington Named Peach Belt Runners of the Week
The nationally ranked NSU track and field teams each earned a Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Week honor, as Peri Bowman (Sr., Virginia Beach, Va.) and Talyn Washington (Jr., Royal Palm Beach, Fla.) picked up the PBC’s first awards of the year.
Bowman, of the No. 21 women’s team, won the 3,000m steeplechase at the USF Invitational. The senior covered the distance in 11:16.86, the fastest time run in the PBC so far this season and best of the nine runners in the field. Bowman, who holds the PBC career mark in the event, also ran the 800, finishing 25th in the 50-runner field in a time of 2:30.58. Complete Release
