Boczova and Wahlstrom Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

rp_primary_women_s_all_acadNova Southeastern University tennis player Klaudia Boczova and swimmer Emma Wahlstrom were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ At-Large Team as announced by the organization on Thursday.

The 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District™ Women’s At-Large Team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The two Sharks were recognized in District 5.

In her first year at NSU, Boczova (Jr., Bratislava, Slovakia) has earned a 3.80 grade point average in accounting. For her accomplishments both on and off the court, Boczova was chosen as NSU’s Female Athlete of the Year by the Athletic Department.

Boczova has been an unstoppable force this season, going undefeated in singles play (14-0) at the No. 1 position to claim the No. 1 spot in the South Region and No. 2 ranking in all of NCAA Division II. With a 12-5 record in doubles, her pairing is No. 2 in the South and No. 5 nationally as well. Boczova was named to the All-Sunshine State Conference First Team following the conclusion of the regular season.

Wahlstrom (Jr., Stockholm, Sweden) has continued to be a driving force on the women’s swim team both in and out of the pool. She currently holds a 3.48 cumulative GPA in business administration and was named to the 2015 Spring SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

One of six women to attend the 2016 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, Wahlstrom earned 10 All-American Honors while claiming the women’s best finish coming in third in the 200-yard freestyle. In the 2015-16 season, she set school records as part of the 200-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle, 800-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley relay teams. After winning the 200-yard backstroke at SSC Championships, Wahlstrom was named to the All-SSC First Team.
