Bergen Named CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American
Nova Southeastern University rower Rebecca Bergen (Sr., Winnipeg, Manitoba) has been named a CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American in the women’s at large category.
In the at large category, Bergen went up against All-District honorees from rowing, tennis, golf, swimming and diving, field and ice hockey, water polo, rifle, fencing, gymnastics, skiing and lacrosse.
Bergen carried a 3.99 GPA as a biology major. She was recently honored as a CRCA Scholar Athlete and the NSU’s Female Scholar Athlete of the Year, for having the highest GPA in her senior class of student-athletes. Athletically, Bergen has been a key rower on the sixth-ranked team in the nation. She rowed in the varsity-4 boat that competed at the Aberdeen Dad Vail regatta.
This honor, given out annually by College Sports Information Directors of America, is given to elite student-athletes who stand out athletically and academically. Bergen is the rowing team’s first CoSIDA Academic All-American and, alongside NSU Hall of Famer Brian Cook in 2008, is the second First-Team Academic All-American in school history. Below is an all-time list of CoSIDA Academic All-Americans from NSU.
