Become a Cut Above the Rest: Apply for Summer Biology Internship

SurgeonUndergraduate biology majors interested in advancing their knowledge and study of science are encouraged to apply for the Summer 2014 Biology Student Internship Program. This competitive program includes hands-on internships that grant juniors and seniors opportunities to assist surgeons and conduct research over the course of six weeks. Three internships are available this summer: two at the Medical University of Graz in Austria and one at Harvard Medical School in Boston, where students will aid in performing HIV research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Designed to provide practical experience in multiple scientific research disciplines, the internship program offers biology students exposure, direction, and guidance for their developing career paths. These experiences educate and train young scientists, often produce high-quality scientific results that are published and presented at scientific meetings, and can result in outcomes that allow for successful acquisition of extramural support. The program also aims to foster intercampus and inter-institutional collaborative relationships on both a national and international level.
