Baudhuin Preschool offers Free Voluntary Prekindergarten Program (VPK)
The Baudhuin Preschool at Nova Southeastern University’s Mailman Segal Center is currently enrolling age eligible children in their free, high quality Voluntary Prekindergarten Program (VPK). VPK classes meet three hours daily, from 8am to 11am, five days a week, starting August 19, 2013, ending the first week in June, 2014. Eligible candidates for the free VPK program are:
- four years of age on or before September 1, 2013
- born between September 2, 2008 and September 1, 2009
The VPK program at the Baudhuin Preschool provides a school readiness rich environment of instruction in emergent literacy skills, including expressive and receptive language, phonological awareness, print knowledge and vocabulary development. Emphasis is also placed on numerical relations and reasoning skills, gross and fine motor development and social skill acquisition. VPK students participate in weekly specials such as music, playground time and physical education. Workshops are provided free to VPK families, on critical topics such as Language, Communication and Emerging Literacy, Dealing with Behavior Issues and Transitioning to Kindergarten.
