Basketball Takes Part in 33rd Annual Disability Expo
The Nova Southeastern men’s basketball team had the chance to watch and support wheelchair basketball teams during the 33rd Annual Disability Expo that took place at the Don Taft University Center.
“I think it was a great opportunity for our guys to support other athletes in our community,” said assistant coach Brandon Crone. “It was humbling for our team to watch the participants who had different disabilities still giving it their all in a competitive sport. It was clear that the participants had put in a lot of time and effort into the sport.”
Another event that took place during the tournament was a game called “goal ball.” It is played by visually impaired individuals who listen for the ball as it approaches them and try to block it. Several Sharks participated in the game during halftime and had the opportunity to experience sports in a different way. Click here to read the complete release.
